Biblical Counseling

The Problem

The current culture we are living in has cast a dark shadow over our lives, leaving us with a profound sense of  “heaviness” that is challenging to navigate.  It’s easy to get caught up in the world these days with everything going on. It can be chaotic and confusing, leaving us feeling anxious and depressed because we feel powerless to make any kind of change. Our vision becomes clouded and we can begin to lose hope. The Apostle Paul admonishes us, “Do not conform to the pattern of the world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is-his good, pleasing and perfect will.”(Romans 12:1-2) My desire is to come alongside you and help you navigate through these challenges through biblical counseling.

How I can help

As your Biblical Counselor, I will provide a safe space for you to share your story.  I will listen to your struggles as we look to God’s Word for the answers.  Therapy only goes so far by simply processing your feelings and teaching you basic coping skills to manage your symptoms on your own. That isn’t always enough. You may be looking for someone to lean on and provide you with the encouragement and support to move you forward. Biblical Counseling digs deeper, beneath the surface, to look into the root causes of past traumas, emotional wounds, substance abuse and addictions. The primary difference between secular therapy and biblical counseling is that your mind and focus shift off of yourself and onto Jesus Christ, the Wonderful Counselor and Ultimate Healer. True healing comes when you begin to lean on Jesus and enter into a personal relationship with him. Then you will be able to experience the depth and breadth of his unfailing, steadfast love for you. Christ came to save and redeem you; therefore he has promised to always be by your side Sometimes he removes the obstacles in your path but most often he will walk through them with you. So stop striving to fix your shortcomings and change your habits on your own. Allow Christ to transform you and renew your mind.
